A Victorian sterling 'Amada' claret jug, hallmarked London 1892 with maker's marks for Martin, Hall & Company, the globular body richly decorated with embossed foliate motifs & applied relief-cast winged figures, fronted by a leopard head in high relief, the neck embossed with classical motifs of acanthus leaves & honeysuckle pendants, rising to a spout fitted with a hinged lever-activated lid affixed to the handle. Height, 14.25". Weight 1,352 grams.
