Michael Behrens studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Maastricht, Netherlands where he began experiments in glass. His work incorporates several production and finishing techniques, executed over long periods of time, to create sculptures inspired by nature and the water. His cast glass works utilize a nuanced color palette which allow light to punctuate their layers of cells or internal structures. His work is held in private and museum collections around the world.
