A FAMILLE-VERTE 'PLAYFUL-BOYS' ROUNDED JAR
Kangxi period
With widely rounded sides and incurving rim, painted in a continuous scene with a procession of boys dancing, walking and running, some holding parasols, some banners and others clutching floral sprays and leaves, one child riding a 'hobby-horse' and others at the tail of the procession rolling a boy on the ground, the head of the procession with a boy climbing on to a large fish bowl, the garden terrace scene divided on one side by rockwork and plantain, the rim banded with lotus reserves on a floral green ground, and partially unglazed concave foot with a white-glazed countersunk center.
9 1/16in (23cm) across; 5 11/16in (14.4cm) diam of mouth; 6 1/2in (41.9cm) high
