Description

BoullÃ© style decanter; Napoleon III period, 19th century.
Carved wood, rosewood veneer, brass and mother-of-pearl.
Measurements: 27,5 x 33 x 24 cm.
Liquor box made of wood with rosewood veneer, mother-of-pearl and gilded brass, which has a simple design and straight lines with a rectangular structure. The piece has a sober decoration based on the expressiveness of the material, but it is also decorated with decorative elements on the front, both on the body and on the lid, which have a classicist-inspired design based on plant ornamentation. The set is completed by a number of transparent glass jars decorated with gilded vegetal motifs. Boxes of this type were very common at the time, making them a basic and practical type of box that could be used both in the home and on the move.
