Studies of six hunters in their stables - Charlton, Hops, Chocolate, Spring, Roderick, Brunette all signed 'G. Paice' (lower left or right) and inscribed with the name of each horse oil on board, all mounted in a period mahogany screen 21 x 28.5cm each
171 x 138cm screen The six paintings are executed in oil on artists’ board with a suppliers stamp for Winsor and Newton on the reverse. The boards are generally in a good condition. The paint layers have been thinly applied. There are scattered losses to the paintings, mainly caused by impact damage. The paintings have thin varnish layers applied which are streaky and have developed a bloom, becoming slightly opaque and purple in tone.
