Early 17th-century ( dated 1610 ) book, written in Latin - De triplici sacrificio naturae, legis, gratiae. Libelli tres authore R.P. Martino Becano, Societatis Iesu theologo. Hand-sewn with vellum covers, written by Jesuit Priest Martinus Becanus, De Triplici Sacrificio Naturae Legis Gratiae. * Ex-library book, with cataloging number written in permanent white ink on spine & a library check out card affixed to the inside back cover. Several library stamps, including the Societas Jesu Toledo Ohio & West Baden College Library & pencil marks on several pages, including inside front cover & cover page, & losses to original handwriting on the cover of the spine, as seen in photos. 6 1/4" X 4 1/4" X 1 3/4". Martinus Becanus (1563 – 1624 ) was a Dutch-born Jesuit priest, known as a theologian & controversialist, as well as a prolific writer, author of some 37 books, most of them works of polemics.
