xii, 228 pp. 19.6x11.8 cm (7¾x4½"), 19th century full crushed levant morocco with triple gilt filet borders, inconspicuously rebacked in leather with original elaborately gilt-tooled spine strip laid down, raised spine bands, gilt inner dentelles, marbled endpapers, top edge gilt; bound by Alfred Matthews. First Edition.

First edition of Alfred Lord Tennyson's first published book. The future Poet Laureate was just 18 when he published this volume together with his brothers Charles and Frederick. Frederick demurred at being included in the title.

Condition

A little wear to corners, front flyleaves (which are not integral to the printing) with some darkening and tape stains, one coming loose; very good, contents fine or nearly so.
