Erie Railroad Reliable Lantern - Green Cast Globe

Item Details

Description

An unusual Adlake "Reliable" model lantern that has a twist-off pot and not a drop in fount. The frame is very clean and has ERIE R.R. stamped on the lid. It also has a shop stamp of "14044" in the small lid panel provided for this type of marking. The globe is a nice green cast with the early 1902 patent that marks the start of non-extended base 5 3/8" globes. the 1902 patent is hard to read on the top rim but it's there. The globe has "ERR Co" cast into the 1902 style rectangular panel. The lettering is very nice. From the Phil SImms collection.
