Description
Lovely jade figure perched on the carved Zitan wood cover of this bronze censer. The Xuande mark is clear on the bottom. This piece rests on a carved wood base. Overall measurement 5.5H x 6.5W x 5.5D inches. Very good condition with very minor wear. No visible chips, cracks, or repairs in Zitan wood. Zitan wood: Imported and used almost exclusively within China, where it commands absolutely exorbitant prices: demand for Zitan puts it into an entirely separate price tier than even the most precious hardwoods sold throughout the Western world. Similar pieces online are $5000 and up right now! Provenance: From a fine, Chinese owned, estate near Atlanta. Congratulations to the winning bidder!
