***Auction Highlight*** Continental Currency July 22nd, 1776 $4 FR. CC41 Printed By Hall & Sellers Grades Choice AU/BU Slider. The emblem as described in an almanac published in 1777 that stated, "the wild boar is an animal of great strength and courage, armed with long and sharp tusks which he knows how to use in his own defence. He is inoffensive while suffered to enjoy his freedom, but when roused or wounded by the hunter, often turns and makes him pay dearly for his temerity." This is an issue that is extremely difficult Hall & Sellers was a Philadelphia printing company originally established by Benjamin Franklin. In 1743 Franklin hired David Hall (1714-77), a Scottish journeyman printer, and in 1748 made the latter a partner. The firm printed Pennsylvania Gazette, Franklin's newspaper. In 1766 Franklin sold his share in the business to Hall, and later that same year Hall brought in the journeyman printer William Sellers as his new partner, establishing Hall & Sellers.
