Sight: 24" H x 19" W. Framed: 26" H x 21" W. Biography: "Danish born artist Elna Bendixsen painted and drew exotic motifs from the jungle world of the Orient and the life of the native population. Stylistically, she was influenced by Cubism, but also to some extent by Oriental art. With technical skill, the works reproduce the distinctive light that reigns at the bottom of the deep tropical forests, a light that obliterates normal European concepts of spatiality and perspective.
