MAUBOUSSIN: PAIR OF NATURAL PEARL AND DIAMOND PENDENT EARRINGS, CIRCA 1930
Of chandelier design, each set throughout with square and single-cut diamonds in pavé, collet and calibré settings, and a fringe of baguette-cut diamonds, terminating in a single pearl drop of either white or grey tint, capped by rose-cut diamonds, unsigned, numbered, length 4.0cm

Accompanied by a report from GCS stating that the pearls are natural, saltwater. Report number 5782-2880, dated 22nd August 2022.

Accompanied by a photocopy of a document from Marguerite de Cerval, dated 15th October 2004, stating the earrings are by Mauboussin.

Accompanied by a report from Laboratoire Français de Gemmologie, stating both pearls are natural, the grey pearl of natural colour. Report number 164701, dated 15th June 2004.

Each earring is numbered on each gallery of the surmount: 4008 and ?208. Pearls measure approximately 10.6x10.7x13.0mm and 10.5x10.5x12.8mm. Grey pearl of good lustre, smooth skin, with rose and green overtones, darker aubergine coloured patch on reverse near where it is mounted. White pearl of good lustre with rose and green overtones, smooth skin, hairline fissure beneath the surface on one side seen under magnification and under strong light source. Diamond I/J/K, SI-I. Later post fittings. Square-cut diamonds not completely flush in channel settings on one earrings - seen under strong light source under magnification. Overall condition good. Very skilled quality of diamond setting employed in the manufacture of these earrings.
