DSP. An incredibly outstanding and significant museum quality example of this Circa 1930's Porcelain Service Station Sign from Sinclair Aircraft Gasoline. This iconic and highly sought after Sign shows beautiful Sinclair Aircraft script throughout the field as well as a unique Airplane graphic in the center of red, white & green Porcelain. This is an absolutely incredible condition piece and most likely one of the finest known examples. CONDITION: Side one shows absolutely outstanding color and gloss throughout the field showing no chipping with only a minimal amount of light surface wear most likely from storage. Side one shows excellent shelving between each color as well as beautiful orange peel ripple in the porcelain. Side one shows an immaculate airplane graphic with a few minor areas of light factory flaw & fills only adding to the uniqueness and beauty of this Sign. Side one shows very minor chipping along the outer edge but is not noticeable when inside the metal banded ring. Side one would be extremely difficult to upgrade and displays outstanding, Grade 9.5+. Side two is also in absolutely outstanding condition showing incredible color and gloss throughout the field with practically no areas of wear. Side two shows a brilliant and damage free Airplane graphic with one small factory flaw in the right wing of the graphic as well as one very minor stain mark in the tail. Side two shows excellent orange peel ripple in the porcelain as well and shows only a few minor areas of light surface wear. Side two also shows some minor areas of light chipping along the outer edge all of which is unnoticeable when in the middle banded ring. Side two is in absolutely outstanding condition as well and would be very tough to improve upon, Grade 9.5+. Sign is mounted in a new metal ring that has been professionally painted in matching red and displays the piece incredibly well. An absolutely incredible example of this important and iconic piece of Service Station Advertising from Sinclair Aircraft Gasoline, and one of the most significant Signs in all of Gas & Oil Advertising.
