Description
SSP. A very unusual and possibly one of a kind piece for Rankins Hancock Service Station, a Circa 1950's Hancock Gasoline Station in Napa, California. Sign features the later "Stick Chicken" style Rooster graphic as well as Hancock script throughout the lower field. CONDITION: Sign shows very good color and gloss in the orange and black porcelain with areas of light cloudiness and dullness in the white porcelain, most of which is not noticeable when not in direct light. Sign also shows some minor surface scratching with an area of wear under the "RA" of Rankins. Sign shows excellent shelving between each color with a beautiful graphic showing only minimal wear. The outer edge is also in very good condition showing one chip at the right edge as well as some minor areas of light age wear. This is a very unique Porcelain Sign for Hancock Gasoline and was most likely made as a one-off piece for the Rankins Hancock Service Station. Overall an outstanding displaying piece of unique and rare Hancock Gasoline Signage. Condition: (8.75). Dimensions: 41" X 20".
