Eishosai Choki (active c1786 to 1808) Japanese Woodblock Print, Beautiful woman playing with cat. Signed upper right. Matted with black frame, glazed. 3lb EishÅsai ChÅki (Japanese: æ „æ¾æ–Ž é•·å–œ), also known as Momokawa ChÅki, was a designer of ukiyo-e style Japanese woodblock prints who was active from about 1786 to 1808. He, along with Utamaro, was a pupil of Toriyama Sekien (1712–1788). ChÅki is best known for his pictures of beautiful slender women, often with atmospheric backgrounds. The artist signed most of his works ChÅki (é•·å–œ), he also signed some work EishÅsai (æ „æ¾æ–Ž) or ShikÅ (å興). Approx.
