The Poetical Works of Sir Walter Scott, Bart. In one Volume. Introductions and notes, various reading, editor's notes. Published in Edinburgh: Adam and Charles Black 1857. Full polished leather covers, blind embossed and gilt armorial of King's College London on cover, gilt spine with raised bands, gilt edges. 823pp. A facsimille of Scott's handwriting on 194-95; Laid in are several sepia toned photos on paper of various castles, manors, locals, etc. (Jedburgh Abbey, Loch Corruisk, Gloucester Cathedral, Brenachoil Lodge, Loch Lommond and others). Book plates on paste down (of King's College, presented to a William Charles B. Milne 1865) and a separate one on the end paper. 3.5lbs
