oil on canvas, signed "E. Guignard" and dated 1890 at lower right, presented in a very attractive period gilt composition frame retaining a label for Victor Thorel of Lyon.
Stretcher size 23 x 30 in.; Frame dimensions 32 1/4 x 39 1/4 in.
This painting is a copy of Orsel's monumental scene in the collection of the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Lyon, France. Completed in 1831, the painting was exhibited at the Capitol in Rome
