Description
Japanese Meiji Ikebana Log Vase, Early 20th C. With copper insert and mixed metal bird and leafy bamboo decoration, designed for the Japanese art of flower arranging, also known as Kado meaning "way of flowers." Together with massive figure of Daikoku standing on two rice bales. Size: 1) 12'' x 7'' x 6'' (30 x 18 x 15 cm); 2) 11'' x 7.5'' x 8'' (28 x 19 x 20 cm). Provenance: Sylvia and Philip Chaplain Collection, New Hampshire.
