Description
Gilt Bronze Three Light Gasolier, 19th c., possibly by Cornelius and Baker, the ceiling cap suspending three double drapery and tassel form hanging rods to a central flaming urn issuing three scrolled arms with relief bobeches, and later frosted and clear glass Argand shades, H.- 42 in., Dia.- 26 in. Provenance: from the Estate of Dr. Peter Elwood Dorsett, New Orleans, Louisiana.
Condition
Condition consistent with age and use. One of the three bronze “rope” hanging rods show signs of reattachment/professional repair beneath the bronze “tassle” where the “rope” splits into two. Some areas of oxidation scattered throughout. Otherwise, a fine example.
