Known for its beauty of design, it is one of the most collectable of all sewing machines. This example is the noiseless model with automatic tension; it’s serial number gives an approximate date of manufacture as 1887. An excellent specimen with bright gold work, this machine comes with the following attachments: the W&G Ruffler in original box, complete with screw for attaching to the machine bed and instruction sheet; W&G Tuck Marker complete with screw for attaching to the machine bed and instruction sheet in original box; W&G sewing machine needles - a box of ten needles, including the setting key; a W&G gathering attachment (very small attachment or part thereof), a W&G Hemmer for Linen or Flannel - no instruction sheet; a W&G Wide Hemmer and a W&G Narrow Hemmer, attachment screw and 2 keys (no instruction sheet).
