TEXTILES: Calico Orange Peel cotton quilt, c. 1840s, in brown and Prussian blue, with chrome yellow sawtooth border, turkey red calico binding is piped (like in dressmaking of the era); plain muslin backing, echo quilting following shapes of piecing in cream-colored cotton thread at about 8 st/in, excellent condition on face; brown stains near center on back, 102" x 103".
