This is a copy of Volume 1 of Elbert Hubbard's "Little Journeys to the Home of the Great". It was copyrighted in 1928 by the Roycrofters. This is an exceptional copy, both for its condition, the presence of a dust jacket, and for the fact that it was created especially for Elsa Elizabeth Deckelman, a member of the Elizabeth Barrett Browning Chapter, Roycroft Junto, Elmira, New York in 1932. It is part of a Memorial Edition. Elsa was born in New York in 1904 to Charles and Anna Deckelman.; Another thing that I have not seen before...several pages were never opened along the outside edge! That means that there are places where two pages are still joined together as they were when printed. It also indicates that this volume was most likely not read.; The dust jacket is paper, heavy, sometimes referred to as oatmeal. It shows some edge wear but not much at all. In the portion of the jacket that covers the back edge of the spine, the jacket has a 1/2" tear. There is no other notable damage, but take a close look at the pics to view for yourself. The book cover is embossed cloth. There is a bronzed view of a building on the front. The interior other than being a little yellowed, has the appearance of never having been read. The binding is tight. No marks in the book. No foxing. The silk bookmark is intact.; Overall in wonderful condition and a good add to any collection of well made and significant books.
