the movement signed Japy Freres
the inset panels painted with putti and floral bouquets and sprays, the rectangular case with applied acanthus scrolls and floral button mounts, the swept panelled top with fruiting knopped finial, the central panel with 3.5' gilt Roman dial, the conforming swept panelled plinth base with foliate scrolling apron feet, the brass twin train movement with Brocot type escapement striking on a bell, the matching three branch four light candelabra on vase supports and matching square footed bases, 41cm high overall (3)
