RARE LEATHER BOUND "FISHING WITH THE FLY" BOOK - ORVIS, WELLS - THICK BOOK WITH HUNDREDS OF PAGES - WE CANNOT LOCATE ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF THIS BOOK? - 7 3/8" X 5 3/4' X 3 1/4" THICK - GOOD CONDITION - There is not a publishing / printing date page at the beginning of the book...The first 2 pages are loose, which include the "CONTENTS" page, reverse of the contents page are 2 quotes by 'Pope'and 'Izaak Walton', then the "INDEX TO PLATES AND FLIES" page on both front and back. It appears that there may be a couple of pages missing in the front...A page with publishing info etc. and the other 'contents' pages for the other sections in the book? After the Contents page, the book's first 'section (329 pages) does start with page 1, so I'm certain that none of the books 'written' pages are missing.The second and third sections in the book, after the first 329 pages, which includes everything on the contents pages that are present, have a publishing / printing date page. The second 'section' is titled "fly-rods and fly-tackle" by Henry P Wells 1885 - 364 pages. The third 'section' is titled "American Salmon Fisherman" by Henry P. Wells 1886 - 166 pages.
