This beautiful painting is from well known and listed artist Filastro or Fil Mottola (1915-2008). He has called this particular piece is called Sparkling Waters. It features docked fishing boats and sunlight reflections on the water giving the sparkle. Framed measures 27 x 33, image size 17.5 x 23.5.

Filastro Matthew Mottolo was born in Orange New Jersey in 1915. In the early 1920s, the Mottolo family relocated to southern California. He enrolled in the Art Institute in CA in 1938 where he attended class and became quickly noticed by some big names in the art world. He was drafted just before the attack on Pearl Harbor and served in the Army until injuries and malaria earned him an early discharge.

Mottolo was also a sketch artist for Disney where he worked on Lady and the Tramp, Sleeping Beauty and Peter Pan. He continued his art mainly working in the Orange county region of California, but once in a while, traveled up the coast to Monterey. This painting appears to be in that region
