Description

stave-type oval form with single wrapped rim, shaped swing handle pinned to a cut-brass ear, and wooden bottom. Likely original varnished surface. Together with a converging rib-type vine basket, and a stave-type woven-splint basket with woven handle. Three pieces total. Late 19th/first quarter 20th century. Nantucket example 10 7/8" HOA, 5 3/4" H rim, 12" x 9" OA rim.
Provenance: From the Eddie Tatum estate collection, Winston-Salem, NC.

Condition

Fair to good overall condition with expected usage wear, scattered breaks and losses mostly to lightship basket and vine basket.
