image is centered and features a galloping stallion and Cheyenne warrior with lance, the warrior wears a long feathered headdress and holds a shield; an enemy warrior (possibly Ute) has his bow and arrow drawn and quiver slung across his back, his hip/abdomen being punctured by the lance of the Cheyenne; below the central image lies a second enemy, outstretched with rifle in one hand and two wounds received to the thigh and knee
