Just over 3/4" total height, of cusped top heart form. Raised rounded edge. the field with a relief trefoil, with additional sprigs to the top. The bottom point is banded for an acorn effect. The trefoil (three-branch foliage) was a favorite Viking image with spiritual significance. The heart stood for bravery, fortitude, loyalty, integrity, all attributes of the Viking warrior. It is abundantly referenced in Viking literature. Surface lightly textured from burial and professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold restored, on a modern gilt Sterling silver neck chain for contemporary wear.
