Description
A traditional Japanese Hinamatsuri Ningyo doll for traditional Girls Day celebration, Meiji period 1868 to 1912. The doll depicts a seating figure of a Japanese emperor wearing elaborately embroidered clothing and a lacquered hat. The head, hands and feets are made of painted wood, and the head bears a hieroglyphic signature. Mounted on a rectangular wooden stand.
