Description
Wu Guanzhong (August 29, 1919 - June 25, 2010), male, from Yixing, Jiangsu Province, was a Chinese painter and art educator. He was the first Chinese artist to be selected as a correspondent academician of the Academy of Arts of France. Wu Guanzhong graduated from the National Art College, and his oil paintings were taught by Fang Ganmin and Wu Guanyu[1], and his traditional Chinese paintings were taught by Pan Tianshou. Wu Guanzhong is a representative figure of modern Chinese art in the 20th century. He devoted his life to the exploration of the nationalization of oil painting and the modernization of Chinese painting.
