Description
American Georgian Style Custom Built Mahogany Breakfront Cabinet Circa 1875. This custom two part breakfront cabinet was most likely built in Boston, MA. The hardware is signed, "E. Robinson." Enoch Robinson hardware manufacturer company was established 1839 Boston, MA. The cabinet has a huge broken arch top with acanthus carved rosette caps 6" in diameter. Stacked moldings include Greek Key and Egg & Dart. China cabinet portion is covered with a black felt and has three adjustiable shelves. The upper door glass has a molded latticework overlay. The cabinet front is veneered in crotch mahogany with applied carving. The base has six drawers above two doors. The section with doors accepts two shelves and they are adjustable. The shelves in the base are missing. Measures 101" high X 61 1/2" wide X 23" deep. ***This piece can not be removed from the auction gallery until after the auction.*** Condition - Overall good condition. Missing a small piece of bead molding at top of base on one end and a piece of the same molding on the other end. Some minor scratches and wear. An old veneer repair.
