Description
1930, UK: A musical automaton used for advertising "Holloway's London Dry Gin", most likely located near a display in a liquor store. The display consists of a 3-dimensional man located in an oak case, with the look of an experienced drinker. When activated, he appears to pour into his small cup, and raises the cup to his mouth to drink, all the while as the music box plays. The operation is 220 electric, the music box plays a single tune, and currently it operates by toggle switch. CONSIDERATIONS: The figure is constructed of composition, and his "dapper" clothing appears to be original. The oak case shows wear from age, but has a great early look. Doubtful the table was part of the display, but is being sold along with the automaton. Working condition. Comes with several pieces of Holloways advertising. This is not a standard shippable item and will require 3rd party shipping or pickup arrangements to be made. Condition: (Excellent). Dimensions: 27 - 1/2" x 20" x 70 - 1/16".
