This is an original oil painting from the 19th century. It depicts a windy, tumultuous seascape. There is a tree with its branches being blown to one side, showing the gusto of the wind. Although there are not many details, the alternating brushwork allows for the distinction between objects such as rocks and cliffs. The technical work on this piece is not advanced, therefore this piece was mostly done by an amateur as an early work. It could be English or American in Origin. The signature is illegible, but the date "1814" can be discerned.
