Description
Native American, Alaskan, ca. 1950s CE. Inscribed "Alaska" on base and stamped "ALASKAN NATIVE MADE" on back. A fabulous carved cedar totem pole on a discoid base hand-painted in hues of red, yellow, green, and black upon a caramel-hued woodgrain. Boasting a light burnish, this fine totem pole presents a conical form with a seated zoomorphic figure atop a red plinth at the bottom and an eagle with spread wings above it, capped by a pair of avian creatures with projecting beaks. Size: 2.25" L x 2.375" W x 9" H (5.7 cm x 6 cm x 22.9 cm)
