Description
Elvis Presley 1956 Tupelo "Elvis Presley Day" Benefit Concert Admission Ticket in Exhibit Quality Framed Display - This is an original concert ticket from Elvis Presley's performance at the Mississippi-Alabama Fair and Dairy Show which took place on September 26, 1956. Elvis made a triumphant return to his birthplace, Tupelo, MS., and the day was celebrated as "Elvis Presley Day." The ticket is for $1.50, and according to the book "Did Elvis Sing in Your Hometown," tickets for other fair headliners that week were only .75 cents. This was the only county fair Elvis played in his entire career, and the proceeds for the concert were to be used to build the youth center in east Tupelo, a project which Elvis was very passionate about. Elvis returned in 1957 for a single performance to finish raising the rest of the funds, which would also be Elvis' last performance in Tupelo. The ticket has been professionally matted and framed in an exhibit quality display along with other memorabilia from the day. Measurements: 21" x 18" framed.
