Eyre Massey, 1st Baron Clarina (1719-1804), was an Anglo-Irish British army officer, known best for his successful leadership at the Battle of La Belle-Famille during the French and Indian War when he routed a far superior enemy and captured all but one French officer prisoner. After the war, Massey commanded the 27th Inniskilling in New York and Quebec from 1763 to 1769, before returning to Ireland. He returned to North America in 1776 when he was deployed to Nova Scotia as a Major-General, and commanded the troops in Halifax for four years.
