Description
Rare Model 1887 French Infantry Officer's epee with scabbard, with Grenadier badge on outer clamshell guard. Blade inscribed "Manufacture nationale d'armes de Chatellerault", with date of manufacture ocbre. 1912 and Model No. 1887. Guard and stamped with maker's mark F C and serial no. 17260; scabbard stamped with indistinct serial no. Dimensions: (Without scabbard) L 37.5" x W 5" 2.5" Condition: Scabbard difficult to remove; true antique patina including oxidation, pitting and tarnish to metal, etc.
