Early photography, four silver gelatin photographs, c. 1910, all of blackface minstrels, unframed, including: first three photographs all signed LR "POLLARD PHOTO", image size: 7 ½" h. x 9" w., mounted on cardboard 12" h. x 14" w., first with seventeen men seated in chairs on stage, all the men but one in center, in blackface; second with six costumed men in blackface, studio stamp on verso: "C.F. Pollard/ Photos. Pictures/ Framing/ 48 Central SQ., / LYNN MASS."; third photo of six seated musicians in blackface in front playing percussion, two white men standing in back row and one in blackface at right side may be seen through the curtain; last is a group of thirty-five people on stage, all men (two women, or men in drag), most in blackface, "Calhoun Minstrels 1908", inscribed LC in ink on gray card, inscribed in pencil $30/ #19, all pieces with wear consistent with age and use, one mat with loss, some fading, etc., sold as is.
