13th century A.D. A slender gold ring composed of a D-section hoop and box bezel flanked by narrow collars decorated with incised lines, bezel set with a polished garnet cabochon. Found whist searching with a metal detector near Scarborough, North Yorkshire, UK, by Mr K.J. Umpleby on Thursday 6th January 2011. Accompanied by a copy of the British Museum's Portable Antiquities Scheme (PAS) report number YORYM-59EC70. Accompanied by a copy of a letter from the British Museum disclaiming the Crown's interest in the find with treasure reference number 2011 T34.
