Northern Wei Dynasty, 386-535 A.D. A ceramic figurine of a horse standing on a rectangular base; integral moulded saddle, saddlecloth, bells, plume and other accoutrements; painted bridle, mane and other detailing. 2.5 kg, 38.5 cm high (15 1/8 in.). Acquired 1990s. West Country, UK, collection. Accompanied by a positive original thermoluminescence analysis report no.C122e82 from Oxford Authentication. This lot has been checked against the Interpol Database of stolen works of art and is accompanied by AIAD certificate no.11358-192684.
