Description

A Splendid Circa Late 17th-Early 18th Century German Women's Moralizing Medal by P.H. Muller (Unsigned, Silver, 38mm, 14.5 grams). The obverse shows Mary and Martha with a Latin legend that translates "Martha Works, Mary Prays"; the reverse depicts Rachel and Ruth with a Latin legend that translates "Beautiful as Rachel, Shrewd as Ruth". There is a hint of very old field tooling as well as a couple of shallow ancient scratches. Toned a lovely olive with delicate iridescence, and housed in an early ornated leather book-type case. Scarce. Est. $100.
