I don’t want my room disturbed until the last thing and will postpone arrangements for reorganizing my book case until I get them. Attend to this at once and see what Goff is willing to doâ€Â¦ See that Arthur stays in the home all the time the men are there putting in the furnace and keep an eye on things yourself. If Goff is not willing to give me 10 days don’t agree to let their work begin. If we are to be annoyed by changes which will not benefit us he must be fair in this matterâ€Â¦ If it does not inconvenience you too much we would like to have you sleep in the house until somebody gets them. At the age of 65, he was the oldest Justice ever appointed to the court for the first time. He served on the Court from January 1910 until his death in July 1914. Signed handwritten letters from Lurton during his tenure as a U.S. Supreme Court justice are virtually nonexistent.
