Description
A lot of vintage decorative pottery. Two items by Aldermaston Pottery, a private manufacture located in the Berkshire village of Aldermaston, England that functioned since 1955 until 1993. A ceramic pitcher-shaped wine vessel with a handle, a cork stopper, and a tap at the bottom. The vessel is hand-painted with a white and brown geometric motif. A ceramic candleholder with figurative cut-out parts. Makers signature and Made in England mark are on the bottom of both items. The signature on this item indicated that it was made by David Tipler, a potter who worked for Aldermaston in the 1960-1970s. The lot also includes a blue-glazed ceramic plate with four small decorative fish by Takahashi, an American importer of Japanese ware. All fish figuines are marked San Francisco, Made in Japan.
