Unusual Louis XV-Style Giltwood Tall Case Clock

fourth quarter 19th century, the hood with serpentine sides and a floral-carved crest, with a painted and parcel-gilt dial, the mid-door with a circular window, resting on a bombe base with central carved shell and paw feet, time and strike movement.
h. 107-1/2", w. 28", d. 12"

Condition

In as found condition. There are sacttered dings and scuffs from age. The exterior has been re-painted gold at one time. It does not appear to have any carving losses. Winding key and 2 weights present. Lacking pendulum.
