Description
A most desirable World War II German relic, a porcelain enameled iron sign which once designated the location of a local Nazi Party office. The sign measures 19.75 x 19.75 in., and shows a good deal of wear, most likely battle damage. The sign is bowed a bit, as makers intended, though now a bit more so due to the thinning of the metal. A second pattern Reichsadler appears at center, above 'N..S.D.A.P.' printed in Gothic lettering. The porcelain is chipped extensively, and the reverse is heavily oxidized. However, the sign maker's name in porcelain remains largely intact - a feature rarely seen in signs offered nowadays, most of which are spurious.
