Item Details

Description

U.S. Mark 2 fighting knife, 7 in. blade, 12 in. overall, with a pinned steel pommel and a grip constructed of knurled brown leather washers. The ricasso is marked: 'U.S. CAMILLUS N.Y.', made by the Camillus Cutlery Company, circa 1944-45. Shows some slight spots from old rust, no longer present, 50% finish remaining. As both knife and scabbard are unmarked, it is most likely that this knife was issued to the Marines as Navy issue Camillus knives were 'U.S.N.' marked.The knife is housed in a dark brown split-rivet leather scabbard, unmarked. Retaining strap bears a small repair. Very good.
