R X Boykin Indiana / Florida (b. 1928) untitled boat in harbor oil on canvas signed lower right From the artist's website: Florida painter and sculptor Robert “RX” Boykin is pleased to present his current work. An artist in the impressionistic style, Robert’s oil paintings typically feature bold and colorful landscapes, shore scenes, nudes and still lifes. Born in Indianapolis, Robert moved to Pinellas County in 1986. Being from an artistic family, painting came naturally for him. His father, Judson, and brother, William, were well known realist painters in Indiana. Robert enjoyed professional instruction by Elmer Taflinger and Carl Weinhart. Robert began his painting career in his early 20’s. He was a regular exhibitor at the Talbot Street art fair and for many years was a mainstay at the artist’s corner on Antiques Alley in Nashville, Indiana. During the 1970’s he owned Art Treasures Limited gallery and antiques store in Nashville.
