Description
A pair of French Chantilly bisque porcelain figures. The polychrome glazed figures depict a man and a woman dressed in costumes adorned with a floral pattern. Each figure is mounted on a round shaped light blue and white base. The figures are decorated with gilded accents. Marked with an engraving, Chantilly, on the base. One figure is numbered 228 on the bottom. Circa: 19th century. Chantilly porcelain is French soft paste porcelain produced between 1730 and 1800 by the manufactory of Chantilly in Oise, France. The wares are usually divided into three periods, 1730 to 51, 1751 to 1760, and a gradual decline from 1760 to 1800.
