19th Century
Sextant with ebonized wood frame. Marked “F. Stoppani London”. Wedge-shaped case, the top with painted decoration of an eagle with an American shield, crossed flags and “Friendship, Love and Truth” banner. Retains label for retailer Taber of New Bedford, Massachusetts.
Case height 3.5”. Length 12.5". Width 12”.
