Wrought by Jemima Elizabeth Moule (1790-1878), Dated 1796
the text reads: Jesus permit thy gracious name to stand/ As the first effort of an infants hand/ and as her fingers on the canvas move/ instruct her tender thoughts to see thy love/ With thy dear children let her have a part/ and write thy name thyself upon her heart/ Tell me, ye knowing and discerning few, Where I may find a friend both firm and true/ Who dares stand by me when in deep distress, And then his Love and Friendship most express/ Jemima Elizabeth Moule's Work in the seventh year of her age December 1796.
